And I will share with you recipes not only on how to cook millet porridge with pumpkin, but also how to diversify it with the help of various ingredients.

What could be better than a sweet aromatic porridge for breakfast, which, moreover, is extremely healthy thanks to pumpkin and apples? Treat your loved ones with such a delicious vitamin breakfast!

Grocery list:

  • a glass of millet groats;
  • two hundred grams of peeled pumpkin pulp;
  • two or three pieces of large sweet apples;
  • one hundred milligrams of fresh milk;
  • four hundred milligrams of water;
  • a pinch of ground cinnamon;
  • sugar or honey to taste.

Step by step recipe:

  1. First we need to prepare millet, namely to get rid of the characteristic bitterness inherent in this cereal. We wash it several times with cold water, then steam it for several minutes with boiling water, after which we drain the liquid.
  2. We cut the pumpkin into thin slices, cut the fruit into two halves and wrap it in foil. We put them in the oven for half an hour. Let's cool down.
  3. Pour the cereal with cold clean water and boil for about fifteen minutes. We cover with a lid.
  4. We turn apples and pumpkin into puree with a blender and add them together with cinnamon to boiled cereals. Pour in the milk and simmer for a few more minutes over low heat. Everything can be served to the table by adding sugar or honey.

Calories per 100 grams: 81 kcal.

For Lent, this dish can be prepared without milk.

Dish in a saucepan with carrots and apples

Carrots are a versatile vegetable, as they can be used in both savory and sweet dishes. So why not add it to pumpkin porridge? And how to do it right, I will tell you in the next recipe.

Grocery list:

  • a glass of millet groats;
  • two hundred grams of pumpkin pulp;
  • one hundred grams of dried fruits (cherries, apples, dried apricots, raisins);
  • half a liter of milk;
  • sugar or honey to taste.

Step by step recipe:

  1. Pour the washed and sorted millet with boiling water for a few minutes, drain the water.
  2. We cut the vegetable into small cubes, put it in a saucepan and pour milk over it. Boil for half an hour until soft.
  3. Pour the cereal to the vegetable and cook for another half hour.
  4. Ten minutes before readiness, add finely chopped dried fruits and cook everything under a covered lid over low heat. Serve with sugar or honey.

In Russia, millet-pumpkin porridge was a very popular dish. It was not boiled, but languished in the oven. We do not have an oven, but we have an oven, so we will make our meal in it. And my step-by-step recipe will help you with this.

Grocery list:

  • a glass of millet groats;
  • three hundred grams of pumpkin pulp;
  • half a liter of fresh milk;
  • butter;
  • sugar or honey to taste.

Step by step recipe:

  1. We sort the millet, wash it and pour it with boiling water for a few minutes. Drain off excess liquid.

Step by step recipe:

  1. First, let's deal with cereals. Let's go over it, rinse it and pour it with boiling water for a while to get rid of bitterness.
  2. Washed chicken meat cut into strips or cubes. Pour oil into the multicooker bowl, spread the chicken and fry until cooked, stirring so as not to burn.
  3. Add the finely chopped onion to the meat and simmer for a few more minutes. Add chopped pumpkin, spices and cook until it becomes soft.
  4. Pour cereal to the ingredients, pour in water and cook for about half an hour.

Per 100 grams: 118 kcal.

You can also add carrots and tomatoes to this dish, it will be even tastier and healthier.
